Obituary

Russell P. "Russ" Webber, 71, of Greenfield, passed away Friday, December 18, 2020, in Charlene Manor Extended Care, Greenfield, from complications of COVID-19.

Born in Gardner on August 1, 1949, he was the son of the late Paul W. and Irene E. (Lajoie) Webber. He graduated from Narragansett Regional High School with the Class of 1967 and earned a degree from Culinary Institute of America in 1969. Russell was a chef employed by several restaurants in western Massachusetts for over 30-years including the French King Restaurant in Erving.

Russell was a member of the Free Masons at Shelburne Falls. He enjoyed reading, —especially newspapers and magazines. Russell loved to watch wrestling, sports, and game shows. He loved playing board games, especially Scrabble, and playing cards. He loved to cook and listen to the Rolling Stones. But the time that Russell truly cherished the most was spent with his family.

Russell is survived by his stepdaughters, Marcella Spurling and her husband Matthew Thrower of Charlemont and Glenda Spurling and her partner Dennis Gibson of Ashfield; five grandchildren, Emma and Ethan Thrower, Crystal Spurling-Wetterwald, Seraphina and James Gibson; and a sister, Ruth Ann Webber of Baldwinville, an uncle, Thomas Johns of Gardner; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was predeceased by his wife Linda (Betit) Webber; and a brother Bruce Webber.
