Obituary

John “Johnny” Joseph Hindle, 63, of Gardner, died peacefully, Monday, January 11, 2021, in his residence.

Born in Lowell on November 24, 1957, he was the son of the Lillian Hindle. He attended Belchertown State School for 18-years, Birch Hill Workshop in 1976, and the BUDD Program in 1989. Johnny was part of the Open Sky Community Services since 2018 and was previously part of Bridge for several years.

Johnny loved Dunkin’ coffee at any time of day.  He loved attending Church at the First Congregational Church of Gardner on Sunday’s and dinners on Thursdays. The thrill of his life was meeting Santa Claus. Johnny loved to travel. His favorite trips included traveling to Cape Cod, New York several times once seeing the Rockettes at Radio City Music Hall, Bar Harbor, Chinatown and camped at Wakeda Campground in Hampton Falls, NH. He attended several concerts including Neil Diamond, Jimmy Buffet and the Mamma Mia Sing-along in Boston.  Johnny enjoyed watching the Paw Sox and Boston Red Sox, camping in New Hampshire, going out to Singapore on Saturday night dancing with the ladies and all his friends. He was affectionately known as the greeter of his home who was always greeted with his beautiful smile. Anyone who entered who did not know Johnny would get to know him rather quickly. 

Johnny is survived by his best friend and housemate, Ed Dwelly, whom he has know since 1986; several other housemates, caretakers, and friends.

Funeral Services will be private.
