Georgette L. (Leger) Landry, 84, of Gardner, died suddenly, Wednesday, August 5, 2020, in the UMass Memorial Medical Center—University Campus, after a long illness.
Born in Gardner on May 4, 1936, she was the daughter of the late George A. and Marie (Cormier) Leger. She received her GED from Mount Wachusett Community College in 1983. Georgette was a clerical worker employed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Mental Health for over 35-years until her retirement in 2000.
Georgette was a parishioner of Annunciation Parish/ Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner. She was a member of the Gardner Golden Agers, the Gardner Chapter of AARP and a member of the Gardner Senior Center—where she volunteered on the games. Georgette loved to play BINGO, go country line dancing, and going on walks. She especially enjoyed going on vacation to West Dennis, Hollywood Florida and Longboat Key, Florida. She was an avid fan of the New England Patriots, Boston Red Sox, and the Boston Celtics. But the time that Georgette loved and cherished the most was spent with her family.
Georgette is survived by her three sons, Richard P. Landry and his wife Linda of Athol, Russell J. Landry and his wife Karen of Florida, and Ronnald G. Landry and his wife Diane of Gardner; one daughter, Roxanne M. Hermanson and her husband Jeffrey of Gardner; two sisters, Jeannine Savoie of Orange, and Rose Marie Perini of Gardner; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Theresa “Terry” Landry of Gardner; a brother-in-law Angelo “Sid” Olivari of Gardner; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was predeceased by her husband of 65-years, Alfred R. Landry, who died in 2018; a daughter, Renette T. Landry; and two sisters, Dolores O'Brien and an infant sister.
Funeral Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
