Wayne E. Elliott Jr., 87, of Templeton, died peacefully Wednesday, June 12, 2024, after an illness in his home surrounded by his family.

Born in Fitchburg on July 7, 1936, he was the son of the late Wayne Sr. and Helen (Fohy) Elliott. He graduated from Petersham High School with the Class of 1954. He was a United States Army Korean Era Veteran serving from 1954 to 1956, where he was stationed in Austria, Germany and Italy. Wayne was a truck driver employed by Wonder Bread for over 35 years before his retirement. He was previously employed by UPS and his family farm, Twin Dairy, as a milkman. 

Wayne was a member of Teamsters, the American Softball Umpires, the Templeton Fish and Game Club, Inc., and the American Legion. He was a volunteer fire captain for the Templeton Fire Department and was an umpire and referee for basketball and softball for over 50 years. Wayne loved his time at sporting events, whether he was working or attending, especially when it was for his New England sports teams. He also enjoyed taking trips to the casino, working outside, raking leaves, and painting houses. Wayne treasured his time as a snowbird in Florida for 26 years. His greatest joy was his family, holding close to the memories made throughout the years. 

Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Colleen “Pat” (Robinson) Elliott of Templeton; three daughters, Kelley Griffin and her husband Peter of Templeton, Luanne Royer and her husband Thomas of Phillipston, and Terri Langlois and her husband Michael of Templeton; ten grandchildren, Jason, Jennifer, and Jeffrey Oliva, Mark Corey, Heather Ronn, Kristine Matuszewski, Adam Royer, Nicholas, Kurt, and Jacob Langlois; twelve great-grandchildren, Juliana, Michael, Alana, Ella, Madlyn, Haylee, Colton, Ava, Harper, Jack, Sadie and Olive; a brother, Daniel Elliott and his wife Doreen of Petersham; a sister, Carolyn May of Newburyport; several; nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

He was predeceased by his three sons, Michael, Rodney and Ronald Elliott; great-grandson, Evan; two brothers, Robert and David Elliott; and two sisters, Frances O’Brien and Elaine Butkus. 

A Calling Hour will be held Tuesday, June 18, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA 01440. Funeral Services will follow at 5:00 p.m. in the funeral home. 

Burial at Pine Grove Cemetery, Patriots Road, Templeton, MA, will be private and held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Templeton Fire and Rescue, 2 School Street, Baldwinville, MA 01436. Please reference in memory of Wayne E. Elliott Jr.
