Waldo J. “Wally” Gibson, Sr., 68, of Gardner, died Sunday, June 16, 2019 in his residence, following an illness.

            Wally was born in Gardner on October 5, 1950, the son of the late Albert L. ‘Pete’ and Julia (Boisvert) Gibson.  He graduated from Narragansett Regional High School of Templeton with the Class of 1968; and was a self-employed Property Manager. Wally enjoyed spending time at Rietta Ranch with his friend Gary.

            He was a United States Vietnam War Army Veteran and received the National Defense Service Medal and the Marksman M16.

            Wally leaves his sons, Wally Gibson of Athol, Scott Gibson of Winchendon, and Peter Malcolm of Greenfield; daughter, Billy-Jo Gibson and her significant other, Josh Acosta of S.D.; brother, James Gibson of Gardner; sister, Debbie Bilodeau of Gardner; grandchildren, Jackson Gibson, Brianna Comeau, Eric Gibson and Alyssa Gibson; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He also leaves his best friend who was more like a brother, Gary Freeman.  He was predeceased by his brother, Ray Gibson.

            Funeral Services and burial with full Military Honors will be held Friday, June 28th at 3:00 p.m. in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon.

            There are no calling hours.    

            Memorial contributions may be made to Montachusett Veterans Outreach Center, 268 Central Street, Gardner, MA 01440. Please reference in memory of Waldo J. Gibson, Sr.
