Theresa R. Lafortune

Theresa R. (Boucher) Lafortune, 92, of Gardner, died peacefully, Friday, April 10, 2020, in her residence after a long illness.

Born in Gardner on March 3, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Romuald and Anita (Houde) Boucher. She was a graduate of Gardner High School with the Class of 1945 and later attended Gardner State Hospital School for Nurses, where she earned a Licensed Practical Nurse degree in 1965. She worked as an LPN at Baldwinville Nursing Home from 1992 till her retirement in 2002. She was previously employed by Dr. Oscar Marcil's 1985 to 1988, and at Heywood Hospital from 1965 to 1985.

She was a parishioner at Annunciation Parish/ Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner, was also a member of the Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Marie Rivier Oratory. Theresa enjoyed quilting, reading, watching television, and golfing. She loved spending time at her camp in Ashburnham during the summer. But the time she loved and cherished the most was spent with her family.

Theresa is survived by her husband of 73-years, André D. “Butch” Lafortune of Gardner; a daughter, Annette S. King and her husband Thomas of Hubbardston; a son, Robert Lafortune and his wife Joanne of Niceville, FL; two sisters, Gloria Boucher of Gardner, and Sr. Rachel Boucher of Biddeford, ME; three grandchildren, Shawn King, Dr. Tessa Lafortune-Greenberg and Todd Lafortune; two great-grandchildren, Raiden and Kane Lafortune; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was predeceased by two brothers, Roger and Ronald Boucher; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy and Shirley Boucher; several aunts and uncles.

Funeral Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
