Sally J. Knorr- Dines

Sally J. (Smith) Knorr-Dines, 83, of Baldwinville, died peacefully, Tuesday, January 19, 2021, in her residence surrounded by her family.

Born in Winchendon on February 22, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Fred Smith and Helen (Stearns) Serwatka. She graduated from Templeton High School with the Class of 1955 and went on to attend Fisher Junior College and Fitchburg State College, where she received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Human Services. Sally was an office administrator employed by the Fitchburg Housing Authority for several years until her retirement.

Sally loved nature, hiking, bird watching, and was a long time member of the Sierra Club.  She was an adventurous traveler who visited many countries.  She loved cooking for her family and celebrations, music, and was an avid reader.  She was a member of the Templeton Women’s Club.

Sally is survived by her life partner of 28 years, Bob Olsen of Baldwinville; her two daughters, Rebecca Gould and her husband Richard of Ashburnham, and Karla Bigelow of Ashburnham; a son James Dines; five grandchildren, Jared Jenevein and his wife Jenny, Leslie and Zachary Gould, and Evelyn and Heath Bigelow; three sisters, Carol Dennis of Otter River, Edie Roy of Athol, and Saundra Piercey of Florida; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Knorr, who died in 1963; and three brothers Richard, Roger, and Jim Smith.
