Roseanna (McPherson) Broeckel, 88, of Orange, died peacefully Wednesday, April 30, 2025, in St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester, after an illness.
Born in Richmond, New Hampshire, on June 9, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Norman Earl McPherson and Sylvia (Mabey) Hebert. She attended Athol-Royalston High School.
Roseanna loved keeping active, enjoying candlepin and ten-pin bowling and was active in several area bowling leagues. She loved to travel, taking many trips to Foxwoods, having adventures with Wilson Bus Line, and going on many camping trips. She also loved going to The Cheesecake Factory, working on crossword puzzles, and playing cards. Roseanna was a homemaker whose greatest joy and treasure was her family, cherishing all the special memories made throughout the years.
Roseanna is survived by her two daughters, Coleen A. LeBlanc and her husband Bradley of Templeton, Nidia R. Courtemanche and her husband Chris of Winchendon; five sons, Kenneth F. Broeckel of Orange, Roland A. Broeckel and his wife Colette of Gardner, Steven M. Broeckel and his wife Bobby-Jo of Baldwinville, Glen P. Broeckel and his wife Tammy of Templeton and Vincent E. Broeckel of W. Swanzey, NH; thirteen grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Viola Pritchard of Virginia, and Gloria LaBonte of Westfield; a brother, Colin Hebert and his wife Susannah of Pennsylvania; sister-in-law, Rachel McPherson of Gardner; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth Broeckel, who died in 1984; a great-grandchild; three sisters, Norma Giles, June Culver, and Faith Pellon; and two brothers, Forrest and Gardner McPherson.
Calling Hours will be held Thursday, May 8, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA. Funeral Services will follow at 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be held at Notre Dame Cemetery, West Street, Gardner, MA.
