Ronald S. Richard, 61, of Athol, died peacefully Wednesday, August 7, 2024, in Alliance Health at Baldwinville, Templeton, after an illness with his family by his side.

Born in Gardner on September 15, 1962, he was the son of Cyril J. Richard of Gardner and the late Rina M. (Babineau) Richard. He graduated from Montachusett Regional Vocational Technical welding program in 1982. He then went on to weld for C&W Fabricators in Gardner till its close. He served in the United States Army Reserves. After welding for many years, he then moved to New Hampshire to become a LNA and care for his nephew for 4 years. He then moved back to Massachusetts to be closer to family and took a job as a direct care worker , employed by the Templeton Development Center- Fernald School.

Ron enjoyed staying active before his illness going scuba diving, hiking and camping and was a second-degree black belt. He also enjoyed watching movies, listening to music—especially his favorite hard rock. Ron’s greatest joy was his family, treasuring the time spent with them.

Besides his father, Ron is survived by his wife and the love of his life together for 36 years, Bonnie (Waite) Richard of Athol; his children, Matthew Belliveau and his wife Larissa of Lewiston, ME, and Tanya Daley and her husband Desmond of West Ossipee, NH; six grandchildren, Kaylee, and Kyle Krutilek, Xavier, Camdyn, Allison, and Zacharia Belliveau; a brother, Yvon D. Richard and his wife Keli of Leominster; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, August 21, 2024, from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA, with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Annunciation Parish at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA. Burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery, West Street, Gardner, MA.

Calling Hours will be held Wednesday, August 21, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
