Ronald P. Erickson

Ronald “Ronnie” P. Erickson, 87, of Gardner died peacefully on Wednesday, August 19, 2020, in his residence, with his family by his side.

Born on January 14, 1933, he was the son of the late Albert L. and Madeline (Stierli) Erickson. Ronnie graduated from Gardner High School with the class of 1951 and later attended Leominster Trade School getting his certificate in general contracting. He was a United States Army Korean War Veteran serving from 1953 to 1955, where he received the National Service Defense Medal, Korean Service Medal, and the United Nations Service Medal for Korea. Ronnie was the Owner/Operator of Erickson Construction Company where he built many homes within the Gardner area including his children’s and his own houses.

He was a parishioner of Annunciation Parish/Holy Rosary Church. He was a member of the American Legion Post 129 of Gardner, and the VFW Post 905 of Gardner. Ronnie loved working and building houses, traveling throughout the world, painting and reading. The time he cherished the most was the time he spent with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren.

Ronnie is survived by his wife of 61 years, Irene R. (Gagnon) Erickson of Gardner; one daughter, Brenda J. Erickson; two sons, Alan R. Erickson and his wife Margretta of Gardner, and Brian J. Erickson of Gardner; three brothers, William Stierli and his wife Francesca of Tampa, Florida, Donald Erickson of Nashua, New Hampshire, and Alfred Erickson and his wife Jill of South Carolina; two sisters, Lina Hall of Methuen, and Judith Robertson of Arizona; three grandchildren, Lauren Saunders and her husband Jason, Kathryn Erickson, and Emma Erickson; one great granddaughter, Kiarah Moore; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was predeceased by one son, Steven M. Erickson.

Funeral Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
