Roland E. Stone

Roland E. Stone, 83, of Gardner, passed away peacefully Saturday, July 6, 2024, in Wachusett Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, after a brief illness.

Born in Gardner on July 20, 1940, he was the son of the late Harold W. and Evelyn G. (Tukey) Stone. He graduated from Gardner High School with the Class of 1958. Roland was an analyst for Digital Equipment Corporation for over 30 years until his retirement in 1992.

Roland was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hiking and fishing, his time on Moosehead Lake with his brothers were some of his fondest memories. His greatest joy was his family, spending as much time with them as he could.

Roland is survived by his wife of 64 years, Linda M. (Richard) Stone of Gardner; one daughter, Sharon Como and her husband Michael of Warren; two grandchildren, Matthew Como and his wife Stephanie of Warren, and Lauren Como of Warren; one brother, James Stone and his wife Patti of Gardner; one sister, Audrey Faucher of Gardner; sisters-in-law, Marcia A. Stone, and Brenda Lehtinen and her husband Wayne Lehtinen; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

He was predeceased by one son, Kenneth M. Stone; two brothers, Alton Stone, and Kenneth W. Stone, and a brother-in-law, Raymond Faucher

In keeping with Roland’s wishes there will be no funeral services.
