Roland R."Turk" Beauregard

Roland R. "Turk" Beauregard, 92, of Gardner, died peacefully Wednesday, May 3, 2017 in Soldiers' Home of Holyoke, surrounded by his family.
Born in Gardner on April 21, 1925, he was the son of the late C. Raymond and Doria (LaPlante) Beauregard.
Roland was a United States WWII Air Force Veteran and received the Good Conduct Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Ribbon, Asiatic Pacific Theater Campaign Ribbon, American Theater Campaign Ribbon and the Victory Medal.
Roland was owner/operator of Beauregard Liquors of Gardner for many years.
He was a member of Annunciation Parish/Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner. He was also a member of the VFW Post 905 Ovila Case of Gardner and the American Legion Post 129 of Gardner.
Roland enjoyed square dancing, maintaining his yard, and going to the casinos. He loved spending time at the camp at the Templeton Fish and Gun Club, and Roland treasured time spent with his family.
Roland was predeceased by his wife, Lorraine (Desmarais) Beauregard, who died in 1991.
He leaves his son, Douglas R. Beauregard and his wife Sheila of Ogunquit, Maine; daughter, Cheryl Houde of Westminster; brother, Chester Beauregard and his wife Joan of Gardner; sister, Rachel Waitkus of Norwood; three grandchildren, Dwight D. Houde, who is actively deployed in the United States Navy, Jenny Beauregard and Ethan Beauregard; great-grandchild, Delaney Houde; long-time companion, Jeannine Guerrin; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Roland was predeceased by two brothers, Francis and Leonard Beauregard; and by one sister, Estelle Roy.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, May 9th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Annunciation Parish/Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
A calling hour will be held Tuesday, May 9th from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
