Robert J. Franklin of Gardner, MA, passed away on August 1, 2026, at the age of 84.

He was born on May 1, 1942, in Gardner, to Edward and Noella Franklin, née Mailloux. Bob, a lifetime Gardner resident, was owner of the Colonial Barbershop on Pleasant St, and was a barber for over 23 years. He was most recently employed as a custodian at Gardner High School and retired at the age of 83.

Bob was predeceased by his wife of 41 years, Judith M Franklin, née Babineau.

He is survived by his daughter, Noreen F. Simmons; his son, Christopher J. Franklin; four grandchildren, Weller and Nathaniel Simmons, and Noah and Lily Franklin; his brother, Richard Franklin; many cousins, nieces and nephews; and by his two close friends, Oscar and Paul.

Bob loved the outdoors and animals, especially his dog, Dozer, a rescued bulldog-mix.

There will be a private memorial to honor him.
