Robert E. Charette, 75, of Gardner, formerly of Leominster, died peacefully Tuesday, March 21, 2023, in his residence.
Born in Leominster on November 10, 1947, he was the son of the late Emile O. and Irene L. (Donais) Charette. He was a graduate of Leominster High School. Robert was United States Navy Vietnam War Veteran serving from 1967 to 1971, where he received a Presidential Unit Citation, Combat Action Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with one Silver Star, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. Robert had worked in management for a number of companies. Mainly chemical companies within Leominster including Borden, Du Pont, Sterilite, and Tucker.
Robert was a member of the Townsend Rod and Gun Club. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing, as well as loved to listen to music.
Robert is survived by a son, Brian Charette of Leominster; two brothers, Gordon Charette and his wife Penny of Gardner and Larry Charette and his wife Anne of Florida; a sister, Ginger Charette of Ayer; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral Services at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon, MA, will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
