Robert A. Bernard, 83, of Templeton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at the Gardner Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
Born in Gardner on October 25, 1942, he was the son of the late Peter and Laura (Nolan) Bernard. He graduated from Gardner High School with the Class of 1960 and continued his education at Mount Wachusett Community College and Worcester State, earning an associate degree in Business. He was a United States Air Force Vietnam-era veteran serving from 1961 to 1965, receiving the Good Conduct Medal. Robert was the proud owner and operator of Templeton Offset Printing for 35 years, dedicating himself to his business and taking great pride in his work.
Robert was a longtime parishioner of Holy Rosary Church in Gardner and a member of American Legion Post 373 in Baldwinville. A hardworking and dedicated man, Robert found great satisfaction in his printing business and the relationships he built throughout the years. Outside of work, he enjoyed tending to his gardens, working outdoors, and capturing special moments through his love of photography. He also enjoyed traveling, particularly his trips to Canada, and visiting with family and friends. Although he appreciated the opportunity to travel, Robert was happiest in the comfort of his own home, enjoying life's simple pleasures. Above all, Robert's greatest joy was his family, and he treasured the time spent together and the many memories they created throughout the years.
Robert is survived by his beloved wife, Charlene J. (Surette) Bernard, of Templeton; a sister, Estelle Michalewicz of Gardner; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.
