Rita M. (LeBlanc) Perry, 93, of Gardner, went to meet her Savior Friday, January 19, 2018. She passed away peacefully in her daughter's residence in Templeton, surrounded by her family.
Born in Bouctouche, N.B. Canada on September 22, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Leon and Valentine (Hebert) LeBlanc.
Rita received her diploma in Cosmetology from Henri's School of Hair Design in Fitchburg in 1974. She operated her own hair salon, 'Snip and Style by Rita' of Gardner for 34 years, retiring in 2011.
Rita was a member of Annunciation Parish/Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner.
She enjoyed ceramics, painting, playing cards and hanging wallpaper. She adored her bird 'Lucy'; and her two favorite things in life were family and food.
Rita leaves one son, Peter J. Perry and his wife Antonella of Lunenburg; two daughters, Marie E. Flamer Phillips and her husband Ben of Templeton, and Linda M. Penniman and her husband Scott of Lunenburg; ten grandchildren, Anthony Flamer, Jason Flamer, Jayme Flamer, Joshua Perry, Daniel Perry, Stefanie Perry, Emily Perry, Nathan Penniman, Craig Penniman and Matthew Penniman; and twelve great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by four brothers, Alyre LeBlanc, Joseph LeBlanc, Fidele LeBlanc and Peter LeBlanc; and five sisters, Germaine Savoie, Marie Leger, Anna LeBlanc, Irene Cooke and Alice Vienneau.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, January 24th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 12:00 p.m. in Annunciation Parish/Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be held at a later date in Notre Dame Cemetery, West Street, Gardner.
A calling hour will be held Wednesday, January 24th from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
