Remi O. Drouin

December 19, 1916 — October 5, 2003

Remi O. Drouin, 86, of 59 Eastwood Circle, Gardner, and formerly of 12 Ash St., Gardner from 1959 to 1993, died Sunday in the Leo P.LaChance Center for Rehabilitation & Nursing, Gardner, following an illness.
Born in Winchendon on December 19, 1916, he was the son of Oscar and Anna (St.Pierre) Drouin.
He was a furniture worker employed by Modern Contract Co. of Gardner for several years, retiring in 1983.
He was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church. He was a member of American Legion Eugene M. Connor Post 192 of Winchendon and V.F.W. Lieutenant Frederick Wilder White Post 2158 of Winchendon.
He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran and received the Good Conduct Medal, European African Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Ribbon with 5 Bronze Service Stars.
He leaves his wife of 57 years, Irene M. (DuBois) Drouin of Gardner; 1 daughter, Rose Marie Matson, wife of Terry Matson of Phillipston; 1 sister, Blanche Branconnier of Spencer; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols St., Gardner.

Burial in Calvary Cemetery, Winchendon, will be private.

There are no calling hours.

Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Rosary School, 135 Nichols St., Gardner, Ma 01440 or to the Leo P. LaChance Center for Rehabilitation & Nursing, 59 Eastwood Circle, Gardner, MA 01440.

The Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner is in charge of arrangements.
