Rebecca McPherson

Rebecca (Carlson) McPherson, 69, of Gardner, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, in Heywood Hospital, Gardner.

Born in Gardner on July 28, 1955, she was the daughter of William Carlson and Janet (Dobson) Carlson. Rebecca proudly received her GED. She was an aide for the deaf and blind employed by ASPIRE Living and Learning of Leominster for 15 years.

Rebecca, a congregant of Chestnut Street Methodist Church of Gardner, was a woman of many passions. She found joy in staying busy, whether it was listening to music, cheering for her beloved Boston Red Sox and Denver Broncos, or watching her granddaughter ride horses. But above all, her greatest love and gift was her family. She cherished every special memory she shared with them throughout the years, and her love for them was unwavering.

Rebecca is survived by her husband, Gordon McPherson of Gardner; daughter, Brenda McPherson and her significant other Antonio Ramos Jr. of Gardner; two sons, Robert Mercier Jr. and his significant other Diane Martinez of Winchendon, and Craig McPherson of New Hampshire; four grandchildren, Mikayla Grabowski and her fiance, Zachary Narkevicius, Lluvia Ramos, Giovani Ramos, and Ivy Gilbert. Daughter-in-law Debra Mercier of Gardner; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her father William Carlson and mother Janet Carlson two sisters, Sharon Payne and Deborah LaLiberte; and son Joel Mercier.

Calling Hours will be held Tuesday, April 29, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA. Funeral Services will follow at 6:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
