Penrose "Penny" N. Leadbetter, Jr. 60 of 137 Turner Lane, Templeton, died Wednesday in Heywood Hospital, Gardner, shortly after being stricken ill at home.
Born in Holden on August 8, 1943, he was the son of Penrose N. and Alfreda (Cabral) Leadbetter, Sr. of Hubbardston.
He was a printer employed by Eusey Press Co. of Leominster for 27 years until retiring in 1999.
He was a 1961 graduate of Gardner High School. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1961 to 1963 serving at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
Besides his parents of Hubbardston, he leaves his wife of 37 years, Janet E. (Pardee) Leadbetter of Templeton; 4 daughters, Lori A. Marland of Clarksville, TN, Linda A. Dupuis of Gardner, Lisa A.L. Bedard of North Attleboro and Leigh A. Gravlin of Lowell; 1 brother, Brian Leadbetter of Orange; 1 sister, Edith Silva of Hubbardston; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Eben J. and Frances A. (Dembek) Pardee of Gardner; 9 grandchildren, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

All funeral services are private and will be held at the convenience of the family.

The Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner is in charge of arrangements.
