Paul "PJ" G. Mearn Jr., 41, of Templeton, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 1, 2025, at UMass Memorial Medical Center-University Campus, Worcester, with his family lovingly by his side after a short illness.
Born in Largo, Florida, on November 30, 1984, he was the cherished son of Paul Sr. and Jocelyn (Boudreau) Mearn of Templeton. A graduate of Montachusett Regional Vocational Technical High School, Class of 2004, PJ went on to build a dedicated 20-year career as the Shoe Department Coordinator at Marshalls in Leominster, where he was respected for both his work ethic and warm, dependable nature.
PJ embraced life with a joyful spirit all his own. A true fan of the Marvel Universe, Star Trek, Godzilla Movies, and WWE Wrestling. He discovered joy in imaginative worlds and fun, especially playing Super Mario Bros., The Legend of Zelda, Minecraft, and Pokémon Go. He also enjoyed watching sports, especially Hockey. PJ was an enthusiast of weather and enjoyed collecting data from all his weather stations at home. He also liked to capture photos on his iPhone. He was endlessly curious and naturally gifted with electronics; he became the family's trusted "fix-it man," always ready to help with patience and a smile. He shared a special bond with his beloved cat, Mya, who brought him endless comfort and companionship.
Besides his parents, PJ leaves his sister, Katie Mearn and her significant other Domonyc Vazquez along with brothers Elijah, Elyan, and Jaydiel Rivera of Leominster; two aunts, Joanne Boudreau, and Rachel Criggar, of Templeton; an uncle, Michael Boudreau of Barre; cousins, Crystal Richard and her husband Jean-Paul, and their children Caleb, Peter, Annie, Grace and her husband Kason Fergerson and their daughter Violet of Maine, Michael Boudreau Jr. and his wife Michelle and their son Elijah of New York, and daughter Emily Kiberd-Pervier of Templeton, Tyler Boudreau of Templeton; many co-workers and long-time friends from Marshalls in Leominster.
PJ is predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Greta and William (Bill) Criggar, and Normand Boudreau, his paternal grandparents, Eleanor and John Gilson, and Joseph Mearn.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, December 15, 2025, with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Annunciation Parish, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA. Burial will take place at a later date in Notre Dame Cemetery, West Street, Gardner, MA.
There are no calling hours; friends and family are kindly asked to report directly to the church on the morning of the service.
