He was employed for many years as a custodian with RAM Engineering, where he was known for his dedication and strong work ethic.

He lived life appreciating its simple pleasures, enjoying watching game shows, listening to his favorite music, and tuning in to his police scanner. A devoted sports fan, he especially loved cheering on his Boston Red Sox. Above all else, Paul's greatest joy was found in time spent with his family, treasuring every moment shared together.

Besides his parents, Paul was predeceased by his beloved son, Paul "PJ" G. Mearn Jr., who died on December 1, 2025; his brother, Robert Mearn; and his stepfather, John Gilson.

A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, January 23, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. in Annunciation Parish, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner, Massachusetts. Burial in Notre Dame Cemetery, West Street, Gardner, will be held in the spring at the convenience of the family.
