Paul G. Lajoie

Paul G. Lajoie, 90, of Fitchburg, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at home.

Born in Gardner, on February 26, 1935, he was the son of the late A. Henry and Anna (Granski) Lajoie. He was a graduate of Gardner High School with the Class of 1953. Paul was an IBEW Union Electrician for 20 years and a lifetime member of IBEW. He retired as Head of Maintenance for the State of Massachusetts at NCCI Gardner.

Paul served in the Marine Corp. and was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Salmon Club, and VFW Post 905, Polish American Citizens Club and Lithuanian Club all of Gardner. Paul enjoyed fishing, as he was an avid sportsman. He loved any time spent on the lake, bass fishing and deer hunting. Above all else, he cherished spending time with his family.

Paul is survived by two sons, Peter Lajoie and his wife Valarie of Shrewsbury, Vermont, and Timothy Lajoie and his wife Susan of Gardner; four grandchildren, Rebecca Maikels, Colin Lajoie, Jared Lajoie, and JP Teeger; two great-grandchildren, Macey and Elliot Maikels; two sisters, Linda Long and her husband Glenn of Natick, and Ellie Goodwin of Atlanta, GA; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Aside from his parents, Paul was also predeceased in life by his wife, Claire J. (Dion) Lajoie; daughter, Katherine J. Lajoie; and predeceased by his sister Lorraine Fontaine.

Graveside Services will be held, August 8, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Johns Cemetery, West Street, Gardner, MA, 01440.
