Normand E"Nippy" Desroches

Normand E. "Nippy" Desroches, 90, of Gardner, died Monday, September 12, 2016 in Maine Medical Center of Portland, Maine, after a fall while vacationing in Maine.
Born in Gardner on March 20, 1926, he was the son of the late Cyril and Regina (Boudreau) Desroches.
Normand was a machinist employed by Simplex Time Recorder of Gardner for several years, retiring in 1988. He was previously employed by Heywood Wakefield Company of Gardner and O.W. Siebert Company, Inc. of Gardner.
Normand was a member of Annunciation Parish/Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner. He was also a member of the Salmon Club, Acadien Social Club and Napoleon Club all of Gardner.
He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and skiing. He also enjoyed debating and loved to shop.
Normand leaves his wife of 59 years, Marie S.D. "Doreen" (Cormier) Desroches of Gardner; two sons, David Desroches and his wife Jennifer of Hubbardston, Alan Desroches of Londonderry, Vermont; two daughters, Donna M. Couture of Gardner and Cheryl A. Johnson of Westminster; two brothers, Raymond Desroches and his wife Joan of New Jersey and Donald Desroches and his wife Rachelle of Moncton, N.B., Canada; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by one brother, Herve "Pete" Desroches and by one sister, Martha (Desroches) LeBlanc.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, September 20th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours will be held Monday, September 19th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
