Norman J. LeBlanc, 86, of Gardner, died peacefully Monday, May 18, 2026, in his home surrounded by his family, after a period of declining health.
Born in Bouctouche, New Brunswick, Canada, on August 30, 1939, he was the son of the late Fidele and Rita (Richard) LeBlanc.
Norman's early years were deeply rooted in his rich French-Canadian heritage. He attended school in Bouctouche until the age of twelve and graduated high school in Hamilton, Ontario. His family eventually settled in Gardner when he was eighteen. It was during a vacation back in Bouctouche that Norman met the love of his life, Rosemay. They were married for 65 years. After working for several years as an upholsterer and then for Maki's, Norman co-founded his own business, LeBlanc & McCaie, a siding and window company. Thanks to his dedication, honesty, and craftsmanship, the business flourished over the years. Norman proudly worked for more than fifty years, retiring at the remarkable age of eighty.
He was a devoted parishioner of Annunciation Parish of Gardner.
Norman loved to travel in his motor home, taking many summer vacations throughout the U.S. and Canada. He and his wife also went on many vacations to Europe. He cherished his time in Aruba, where he owned a timeshare and created memories, establishing a winter tradition for his family. A favorite pastime was taking trips to Foxwoods Casino. Country music was one of Norman's great joys, and he especially loved playing his guitar, a talent he passed down to his son Danny.
Norman had a great sense of humor and always enjoyed a good joke. He was a sharp dresser who loved keeping up with current events and financial news.
A familiar face to many throughout Gardner, he loved meeting people and never missed an opportunity to strike up a conversation. Born with the gift of gab, Norman was not shy about saying hello to a new face. Whether dining at Friendly's or Williams Restaurant, he would often leave knowing not only his server, but nearly every table around him as well. He always made it a point to thank the wait staff with a warm smile and a heartfelt "merci beaucoup."
Norman was very generous with his good fortune. He always found joy in taking his family on vacations, treating friends to dinner, and supporting causes that were close to his heart.
A devoted Boston Bruins fan, Norman especially enjoyed joking with family members who cheered for the rival Montreal Canadiens. He took great pride in tending to his beautiful yard and maintaining a nice home. Norman found comfort and laughter in watching old westerns and the show Everybody Loves Raymond.
Norman is survived by his wife, Rosemay (Cormier) LeBlanc; two daughters, Maureen LeBlanc of Gardner, Joanne Dunn and her husband Tom of Leominster; one son, Danny LeBlanc and his long-time companion, Wendy Morrison; three grandchildren, Ross LeBlanc, Kelsey Moran and her husband Cam, and Olivia Dunn; 2 great grandchildren, Lukas and Brayden; one sister Andrea Cormier and her husband John of Gardner; two brothers, Paul LeBlanc and his wife Julie of N.B. Canada, Guy LeBlanc and his wife Kathy of Utah; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins.
Norman was predeceased by his brother Roger LeBlanc.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Nicole Wozniak, Sue Thompson, MaryAnne Hardy, Julie Warren and Roxanne Paille for the compassionate care and support they provided to Norman over the last two years of his life.
