Norman J. Daneault, 93, of Gardner, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at Alliance Health at Baldwinville, after a period of declining health.
Born in Gardner on February 21, 1932, he was the son of the late Nestor and Iola (Chapin) Daneault. Norman enjoyed a long and prosperous career with Nichols & Stone of Gardner, where he worked for many years before his retirement. Following his retirement, he continued to stay active and connected to his community through his work at Stop & Shop in Gardner.
A devoted parishioner of Annunciation Parish in Gardner, Norman's life was filled with kindness, humility, and community spirit. A lifelong baseball fan, he especially loved cheering for his beloved Boston Red Sox. Yet, it was his friendly nature and dedication to the people of Gardner that truly defined him. For nearly 40 years, Norman could be found at the intersection of Central, Parker, and Main Streets, offering a cheerful wave and warm smile to all who passed by. His simple act of goodwill earned him the affectionate title of "The Gardner Greeter," making him a cherished and unforgettable figure within the community he loved so deeply.
Norman is survived by two children and their families; his dear friends, Anne Bouchard and Theresa Gautreau; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his former wife, Joan Stephenson, and a daughter, Kathleen Daneault.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. in Annunciation Parish, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA. Burial at Notre Dame Cemetery, West Street, Gardner, MA will be private.
