Norman J. Cormier, 78, of Gardner, died peacefully Sunday, June 23, 2019 in Wachusett Manor Nursing Home of Gardner, with his family by his side, following a long illness.
Norman was born in Minto, N.B. Canada on September 5, 1940, the son of the late Albert and Leona (Richard) Cormier.
He was employed in the construction industry for the Laborers International Union of America #39 of Fitchburg for many years. Norman was a member of Annunciation Parish/Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner. He was also a member of the Acadien Club of Gardner. He enjoyed deer hunting in Canada; and he treasured spending time with his family.
Norman leaves is wife of 56 years, Carole A. (Griffin) Cormier of Gardner; son, Richard A. Cormier of Otter River; daughter, Linda M. Tolman and her husband Robert of Gardner; brother, Ronald Cormier and his wife Irene of Minto, N.B. Canada; sisters, Albertine Cormier of Scotchtown, N.B. Canada, Geneva Celeste and her husband Murray of Burlington, Ontario, Canada, and Noella Hiscock and her husband James of Noonan, N.B. Canada; sister-in-law, Virginia Cormier of Minto, N.B. Canada; grandchildren, Benjamin Tolman and Adam Cormier; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother, Leo Cormier; and sister, Dianne McAllister.
Graveside Services will be held Thursday, June 27th at 11:00 a.m. in Notre Dame Cemetery, West Street, Gardner.
