Nancy M. Anderson

September 30, 1951 — November 23, 2017

Nancy Marie (Cormier) Anderson, 66, of Gardner, died peacefully Thursday, November 23, 2017 in her home surrounded by her loving family, following a long illness.
Nancy was born in Gardner on September 30, 1951, the daughter of the late Arthur "Babe" and Alice T. (Wojdak) Cormier.
She graduated from Gardner High School with the Class of 1969, and in 1973 she received her Bachelors of Science Degree in Education from Fitchburg State College. Nancy was a dedicated second grade teacher in the Gardner Public School System for over 30 years.
She was a member of the former Sacred Heart of Jesus Church of Gardner, where she was a member of the Altar Guild for over 30 years. After the closing of Sacred Heart Church, Nancy created a booklet to commemorate the many unique features of the church. The booklet was sponsored by a prominent citizen and offered as a gift to all who wanted a keepsake of their church.
Nancy loved the theatre and had acted on stage in many local productions, including Mount Wachusett Community College and the Barre Theatre. She had a knack for gardening, as well as being an excellent cook. She enjoyed scrapbooking, decorating for the holidays, and was a talented writer. She had a passion for antique Valentines and vintage cake toppers. Nancy was able to juggle her career and be a devoted mother and wife. Her greatest love was her family, close friends and her many students. Her favorite movie was "Gone with the Wind". Nancy, as we sadly bid you farewell, you are truly "gone with the wind".
Nancy is survived by her beloved husband of 42 years, Hoyt "William" Anderson, of Gardner; devoted daughters, Grace J. Anderson and her significant other Jonathan Costa of Fall River, and Sarah E. Anderson and her fiancé Nate Haney of Gardner; sisters, Elaine A. LaDeau and her husband Ronald of Gardner, and Susan F. Fournier and her husband Robert of Plymouth; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her brother, Gary A. Cormier.
A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, December 5th at 10:30 a.m. in Holy Cross Church, 25 Lake Avenue, Templeton. Friends and family are asked to report directly to the Church the morning of the services. Burial will be in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon.
