Michael L. Suchocki, 37, of Templeton, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 11, 2025, surrounded by his loving family at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, after an eight-month courageous battle against stage 4 kidney cancer.
Born in Gardner on July 28, 1988, Michael was the cherished son of David L. and Kathleen F. (Grucan) Suchocki of Templeton. In addition to his parents, Michael leaves behind his sister, Jessica R. Suchocki of Templeton, along with several aunts, uncles, and cousins who will deeply miss his warmth, laughter, and kind spirit. A proud graduate of Narragansett Regional High School, Class of 2006, where he played basketball and football for the Warriors. Michael continued his education, earning his Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Assumption College in 2010, followed by a Master's Degree in Business Administration from Arizona State University. A U.S. Federal Civil Service employee for more than 10 years, he most recently served as a Contracting Officer for the United States Air Force at Hanscom Air Force Base in Bedford.
Michael was a parishioner of the former Sacred Heart of Jesus Church of Gardner. Though his life was far too brief, it was one filled with enthusiasm, curiosity, and joy. He enjoyed traveling, trivia, darts, music, and bowling, was a diehard New England pro sports fan, and was a passionate sports memorabilia and Pokémon collector. He spoke fondly of his trips to Australia as well his numerous trips to collegiate and NFL football games across the country. An avid fan of the quiz show "Jeopardy!", he was a co-founder of The Baconators, a team which dominated the North Central Mass. pub trivia circuit. A multi-time winner of the monthly Hanscom Darts Tournament, he was a member of the Gardner VFW A-League team in the Central Mass. Darts Association. He endured a love/hate relationship with fantasy football but always came back for more each fall.
Armed with a sarcastic and self-deprecating sense of humor, Michael had a sharp wit and never missed an opportunity to work a clever pun into any conversation. Above all else, he will be remembered as a devoted and loving son, brother and nephew and as a fiercely loyal and compassionate friend to many.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. in Annunciation Parish, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA. There are no calling hours; relatives and friends are kindly asked to report directly to the church on the day of the service.
