Michael Lynch, 76, of Hubbardston, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 31, 2025, at UMASS Memorial Medical Center-University Campus in Worcester.
Born in Boston on September 2, 1948, Michael was the son of the late Lewis and Jeannette (Gallagher) Lynch. He graduated from Dorchester High School with the Class of 1966 and went on to study Biology at Bridgewater State College, earning his degree in 1970. He later pursued his master's degree in Organic Chemistry at Syracuse University. Michael built a distinguished career as a neurophysiologist and was the co-owner and operator of GBC Separations.
Michael proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1968 to 1972 during the Vietnam Era, earning the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.
Michael cherished walking at Barre Falls Dam alongside his devoted wife, Diane Lynch and beloved Akitas, Mooch and Teaka and all the Akitas before them. He spent a great deal of time supporting Big East Akita Rescue through the Whisker Walk every year. Michael also enjoyed competition shooting and had a passion for reading spy and military novels. For two years, he served as a Firearms and Range Instructor at Smith & Wesson, where he took great pride in teaching others the importance of firearm safety. But above all, Michael treasured the time he shared with his family, friends and dogs, a love that warmed everyone around him.
Michael is survived by his wife, Diane M. (Poulin) Lynch of Hubbardston; two sons, Daniel Lynch of Haverhill, and Dennis Lynch of Goffstown, New Hampshire; a daughter, Caitlyn Ovalles and her husband Christian of Salem, NH; he is also survived by four grandchildren, Ryan Lynch, Nehemiah and Reina Jerez, Aleena Ovalles.
Besides his parents, Michael was also predeceased by his sister, Peggy Ann Lynch, in 2007.
A Celebration of Life will be held the Overlook Parking area at Barre Falls Dam in Hubbardston, MA at 2PM October 4 with a gathering of Family and friends at the Templeton Fish and Game Club in Templeton MA.
