Melina M. Desaulniers

Melina M. (Gallant) Desaulniers, 84, of Gardner, died peacefully November 10, 2019, in Umass Memorial Medical Center, University Campus of Worcester surrounded by her family.

Born on March 4, 1935, in Richibucto Village, New Brunswick, Canada she was the daughter of the late Andre J. and Obeline (Richard) Gallant. Melina was an inspector for the Simplex Time Recorder Company for 24 years until her retirement in 1996. She was previously employed by Heywood Wakefield Company as a stainer.

Melina was a member of Annunciation Parish/Holy Rosary Church. She enjoyed cooking, baking pies and homemade bread, crafts, traveling, playing horseshoes, dancing and camping. Her greatest enjoyment was the time spent with her grandchildren and family.

She leaves three sons Bernard J. Savoie of Newburyport, Andre J. Savoie and his wife Kim of Pittsburg, PA, and Maurice C. Savoie of Gardner; three daughters Gisele M. White and her husband Kenneth of Wappingers Falls, NY, Angela M. Cramm and her husband Paul of Gardner, and Lisa M. King and her husband Eric of Wingdale, NY; seventeen grandchildren Jeremy, Jarrod, Angela, Daniel, Mellissa, Adam, Sheena, Lindsey, Amanda, Zachary, Ryan, Shannon, Jospeh, Gabrielle, Mikayla, Marco, and Angela C.; sixteen great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Melina was predeceased by her first husband Clarence J. Savoie who died in 1988; her second husband Richard Desaulniers who died in 2016; a son Guy A. Savoie who died in 2010; three brothers Edgar Gallant, Emile Gallant, and Livain Gallant; three sisters Edna Barrieau, Laura Wilders, and Rita Griffin.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, November 14, 2019, from the Boucher Funeral Home Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Annunciation Parish/Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial at Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner will be held at a later date.

Calling Hours will be held Wednesday, November 13, 2019, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home
