Marie Florence (Cormier) Godin, 97, of Apple Valley, CA, formerly of Gardner, MA, until moving to California in 1978, passed away peacefully at home with family members at her side on Thursday, July 16, 2026.

Marie was born January 24, 1929, in Gardner, MA, she was the daughter of the late John P. and Evangeline (Belliveau) Cormier. She married Wilfred A. Godin in 1948 and spent 57 wonderful years with each other until his passing in 2004. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse employed at the Fernald Farm until retiring in 1978.

Marie was a Catholic Daughter and a Eucharistic Minister at Our Lady of the Desert in Apple Valley, CA. She was also a member of the Holy Rosary Church (Annunciation Parish) in Gardner, MA.

She is survived by her six sons, Philip A Godin, of East Templeton, MA., Michael J Godin of Phillipston, MA., David W Godin of Hubbardston, MA., Steven R Godin, of Phelan, CA., Alan G Godin of Apple Valley, CA., Gary A Godin of Dedham, MA., and one daughter Jeanne L Ellis of Madison, FL; her eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

She is lovingly remembered for her kindness, her integrity, and her unwavering strength in times of sorrow. She was a shining example of what a mother should be. She will be deeply missed.

Calling Hours will be held Monday, September 14, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, September 15, 2026, in Annunciation Parish, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA. A Rosary Prayer Service will begin at 10:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Chrisitan Burial at 11:00 a.m. in the church. Burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery, West Street, Gardner, MA. A Funeral Reception will follow the burial at The Elks Lodge #1426, 31 Park Street, Gardner, MA.
