Marguerite "Maggie" M. Belle Isle

Marguerite “Maggie” Belle Isle, 89, of Fitchburg, formerly of Gardner and Clearwater, FL, passed away, Monday, July 27, 2020 in the Highlands Nursing Home, Fitchburg.

Born in Gardner on April 5, 1931, she was the third youngest of nine children from the late Ernest and Roseanne (O’ Brien) Boucher. Maggie is predeceased by her loving husband, Joseph Belle Isle, who passed away May 27, 2001.

She attended Our Lady of the Holy Rosary School and attended Gardner High School. Maggie and Joe retired to Clearwater, FL, for several years before returning to Gardner. Among many endeavors, she was employed at the Gardner Skating Rink along with the Leominster State Park, worked as a private duty home health aide for several years and enjoyed helping others.

Never at a loss for words, Maggie was very friendly and outgoing. She enjoyed fishing, bowling, ceramics, needlepoint, sewing, quilting and her passion—playing BINGO.

She is very much loved and will be greatly missed by her four children, family, friends, nephews, and nieces. Maggie is survived by her children, Joan Chamberlain of Campton, NH, Joseph Belle Isle and his wife Donna of Gardner, Janice Belle Isle and her significant other Gerry Robichaud of Hubbardston, James Belle Isle and his wife Julie of Springfield; five grandchildren, Heido-Jo Hanson, Kristen and Matthew Belle Isle, Jonathan and Joey Belle Isle; three great-grandchildren, Amber Chaves, Jared Moore and Parker Rae Belle Isle; three great-great grandchildren, Jacob, Elijah and Oliver Chaves; a brother, Placid “Phil” Boucher; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Aunt Maggie always has a place in my heart....forever. I have such fun memories of her as far back as very early childhood when we went to Gardner for vacations. I will cherish those memories always. Aunt Maggie was so young at heart and loving. After my Mom died, talking to Aunt Maggie on the phone was like having a little part of Mom there again. I love you Aunt Maggie ! Love, Judy ( Jeanne's daughter)
