M. Susan Sandagon

July 29, 1946 — June 21, 2019

                M. Susan (Demir) Sandagon, 72, of Gardner, died Friday, June 21, 2019 in Lahey Hospital and Medical Center of Burlington, surrounded by her family, following a brief illness.

Sue was born in Augusta, Maine on July 29, 1946, the daughter of the late Francis “Steve” and Geraldine (Poulin) Demir. She graduated from Augusta High School with the Class of 1964, and received her Degree is Nursing from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in 1967. Sue spent her life as a dedicated Registered Nurse caring for others; a profession she truly loved. She was employed by Heywood Hospital of Gardner for over 30 years, taught Staff Development at Eastwood Pines Nursing Home of Gardner for 12 years, and she was employed by Manor on the Hill of Leominster for several years, prior to retiring in 2008.

Sue was an avid reader, sometimes reading two books at the same time. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, watching ‘Judge Judy’ on television and playing Jeopardy. Sue loved the 45 years spent vacationing at Smitholm Cottages in Laconia, NH, especially during Bike Week. Though she didn’t own or ride a Harley, she was a true Harley girl at heart. She loved her dog Bailee, but her greatest joy in life was spending time with her children and grandchildren whom she dearly loved. Sue taught her family and those close to her the power of hard work, strength and dedication. She was the rock of family and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She leaves her son Mark Sandagon and his wife Collene of Gardner; daughter, Michelle (Sandagon) Currier and her wife Anne of Pelham, NH; sister, Kathleen (Demir) Bradbury of Gardner; beloved grandchildren, Josh Sandagon and his fiancé Jessica Marshall of Gardner, Jason Sandagon and his significant other, Tamara Rotela of NY, NY, Alexander Cramm of Bretton Woods, NH; granddaughter by love, Samantha Stein and her fiancé, Josh Cyganiewicz and their son, Weston; nieces, Lisa Spring and Kelly LaGrassa. Sue also leaves her best friends of over 35 years, Ellie Scotland of Rindge, NH and Judy Fredette of Winchendon. She was predeceased by her grandchildren, Katelyn Cramm (1998) and Nathaniel Cramm (2001).
