Lorraine Surette

Lorraine (Drisdelle) Surette, 96, of Leominster, MA, formerly of Gardner, MA, died peacefully, Monday, September 14, 2020, at the Life Care Center of Leominster following an illness. 

Born in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada, on April 25, 1924, she was the daughter of the late William and Ida (Melanson) Drisdelle. She was a graduate of the Success Business College of Moncton, NB Canada graduating with the Class of 1942. She, along with her husband Edgar and son Paul owned and operated Surette’s New & Used Furniture in Gardner for several years. Lorraine was also employed by the Gardner News for several years and by the Canadian Department of Agriculture for several years.

Lorraine was a parishioner of Annunciation Parish/ Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner, MA. She was a member of the Gardner Chapter of AARP. She loved to spend time with her friends and always enjoyed a good party where she could dance. She enjoyed watching television and especially enjoyed watching Dancing with the Stars. But the time that Lorraine loved the most was spent with her family.

Lorraine is survived by her son Paul Surette and his wife Patricia of Millbury, MA; a grandson Dr. Charles Surette of New York, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was predeceased by her husband of 31-years, Joseph Edgar Surette, who died in 1999; sisters, Olive Clowater and Gerine Leger; five brothers, Edgar, Alban, Clarence, Emery, and Gerard Drisdelle.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, September 19, 2020, with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Annunciation Parish at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA. Burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery, West Street, Gardner, MA.

Calling Hours will be private.

Due to the current COVID-19 Pandemic, current restrictions set in place by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts will be in effect at Lorraine’s services.
