Leonne C. Tagen

M. Leonne (Couture) Tagen, 96, of Leominster, formerly of Westminster, died peacefully, Tuesday, May 26, 2020, in the Life Care Center of Leominster, due to complications from COVID-19.

Born in Gardner on June 11, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Ernest J. and Dona (Dorval) Couture. She was born into a French-speaking family and would learn English while playing with her lifelong friend, Elizabeth Roy, in a sandbox. She was a graduate of Gardner High School with the Class of 1941. Leonne was Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent of Ashburnham Westminster School District for 9-years. She was previously employed by the Gardner News for 25-years.

Leonne was a parishioner of Annunciation Parish/ Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner and was a member of its Ladies of Ste. Anne Society, and its Adoration Group. She was a member of the Gardner Museum and the Westminster Historical Society. She was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots and spent her free moments either knitting intricate sweater patterns or solving the daily crossword puzzles.

Leonne is survived by her two step-children, April Adams and her husband Tony of Nashua, NH, and Jeff Tagen and his partner Rick May of Provincetown; two step-grandchildren, Kristen Salesky and Kelci Adams; one step-great-grandchild, Anthony Ray; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral Services will be announced at a later date.
