Leonard B. "Lenny" Robinson Sr, 85, of Templeton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, in hospice care at Alliance Health of Baldwinville after a valiant 6-year battle with Alzheimer's Disease.
Born in Clinton on February 01, 1939, he was the son of the late Raymond and Josephine (Coppenrath) Robinson. He graduated from Clinton High School with the Class of 1957. Lenny's first job was working for his family business, Clinton Auto Express. Here, he provided the bill of ladings when he discovered his true passion, being a truck driver. He leveraged this passion into his lifelong calling.
Lenny was a diehard Red Sox fan who followed the team his entire life. He also enjoyed watching football. When he started watching the NFL, the closest local team was the NY Giants, so they were "his team." Lenny was also a true nature lover. He enjoyed his daily walks around Lake Dennison. One of his favorite lines was always, "You know where I'd be right now if I could." Of course, we knew. In addition to the outdoors, Lenny was a compassionate animal advocate who appreciated the sweet joys of having a cat or dog in his life while generously supporting the various humane societies.
Lenny is survived by his two daughters, Michelle Shealy and her husband Michael, of Baton Rouge, LA, and Tammy Dupuis and her husband Richard, of Rehoboth; two sons, Daniel Robinson, of Gardner, and Leonard B. Robinson Jr, of North Andover; thirteen grandchildren; multiple great-grandchildren; a sister, Linda O'Grady and her husband, Barry, of Pembroke Pines, FL; two nieces, Shannon Thill and her husband Rick, of Boca Raton, FL, and Amy Cabello and her husband Ric of Oviedo, FL.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA; Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, Patriots Rd, Templeton, MA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ahimsa Haven Animal Rescue, 381R Baldwinville Road, Templeton, MA, 01468. Please reference it in memory of Leonard B. Robinson Sr and his beloved cat Spaz
The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the doctors, nurses, and staff of Alliance Health at Baldwinville because we know he wasn't exactly a walk in the park.
