IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lawrence R.
McMilleon
July 3, 1933 – March 26, 2026
Lawrence R. McMilleon, 92, of Gardner, died peacefully Thursday, March 26, 2026, at Alliance Health at Baldwinville, following a period of declining health.
Born in South Norwalk, Connecticut, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Corrine (LaFleur) McMilleon. Lawrence proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1950 to 1953, receiving the Korean Service Medal and the United Nations Service Medal. He was employed for many years as an inspector with Digital Equipment Corporation in Westminster, where he remained until his retirement.
Lawrence was a dedicated member of the Ovila Case VFW Post 905 of Gardner, where he served on the honor guard. He was also a past member of the American Legion and a member of the Templeton Fish and Game Club. He found great joy in the outdoors, especially camping and spending time at the ocean. Above all, Lawrence cherished the time he spent with his family, treasuring the many memories created over the years.
He is survived by his three sons, David McMilleon and his wife Pam of Colorado, Daniel McMilleon of Gardner, and Brian Burpee and his wife Mary of Gardner; five daughters, Sheryl Chaisson and her husband Alan of East Templeton, Susan Richard and her husband Eric of Rindge, New Hampshire, Deborah Nivala of Gardner, Elizabeth Kendall of Florida, and Laurene Minns of Gardner; seventeen grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; a sister, Carol Gaudet of Leominster; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was predeceased by his two brothers, Donald and Francis McMilleon.
Graveside services with Military Honors will be held on Friday, April 17, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to the Montachusett Veterans Outreach Center, 268 Central Street, Gardner, MA 01440, or online at www.veterans-outreach.org. Please reference in memory of Lawrence R. McMilleon.
