Kevin J"Fitz" Fitzgerald

Kevin J. "Fitz" Fitzgerald, 62, of Gardner, died peacefully Saturday, April 7, 2018 in Heywood Hospital of Gardner, following a long illness.
Born in Revere, MA on February 14, 1956, he was the son of the late Henry E. and Dorothy M. (Rose) Fitzgerald.
Kevin graduated from Revere High School with the Class of 1974, and graduated from Essex Agricultural and Technical Institute in 1976.
Kevin was employed over the years by the City of Revere, H&R 1871, Inc. of Gardner, MR Resources of Gardner, and by the Massachusetts Department of Corrections, MCI-Shirley. Following his retirement he owned and operated Seaside Bait Shop of Gardner.
Kevin was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed deep sea fishing, hunting, riding his ATV, and spending time in his swimming pool. He was a member of the Gardner Lions Club, Gardner Fish & Game, State Line Riders ATV Club, Mass Trail Riders ATV Club and was a Counselor at Adams Pond, Barnstead, NH. He was also a member of the Boy Scouts of America Troop 790 and received one of the first merit badges given for Archery.
Kevin leaves his significant other, Mary (Pilesky) Lyman of Gardner, and her children and grandchildren; two sisters, Rita McGurin and her husband Charlie of Surprise, AZ, and Corinne Ware and her husband Bob of Barefoot Bay, FL; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Dennis Fitzgerald; and nephew, Spikes Fitzgerald.
A "Celebration of Life" will be held Sunday, June 10th at 1:00 p.m. in Rollstone Congregational Church, 199 Main Street, Fitchburg. Family and friends are asked to report directly to the church the day of the services.
There are no calling hours.
