Keith R. Lahtinen, 59, of Southbridge, died peacefully Sunday, December 4, 2022, in UMass Memorial Medical Center—University Campus, Worcester, with his family by his side after a long illness.

Born in Gardner on December 26, 1962, he was the son of the late Arne Lahtinen and Sheila (White) Harris. He graduated from Oakmont Regional High School, Ashburnham, with the Class of 1981 following graduation he enlisted in the United States Coast Guard serving from 1981 to 1983. Keith was a Mail Carrier employed by the United States Postal Service for 30-years prior to his retirement.

Keith loved sports, especially hockey, and loved to watch his children play the sports they loved. He also enjoyed working out in his gardens, cooking and spending time around the fire.

Keith is survived by his son, Timothy Lahtinen of Westminster; a grandchild, Annalisa Lahtinen; a brother, Gregory Lahtinen and his husband Joseph Girgarauskas of Southbridge; a sister, Robin Robichaud of Gardner; a stepson, Chad LeBlanc; a stepdaughter, Kaylyn Rushia; niece and nephews, Michelle and Russell Robichaud; and several cousins.

He was predeceased by a son, Taylor Lahtinen.

Funeral Services will be announced and held in the spring.
