Joyce A. (Pervier) Provencher, 87 of Templeton, died after a brief illness Monday, May 13, 2024, in Athol Memorial Hospital, Athol. 

Born in Gardner on October 20, 1936, she was the daughter of the late C. Lincoln and Ruth A. (Johnson) Pervier. She graduated from Templeton High School with the Class of 1954 and Fitchburg State College with her Bachelor's in Education. Joyce was a preschool teacher employed by the Narragansett Regional School District for many years before her retirement. She was previously employed by Olsen's Restaurant as a short-order cook and by Goodnow-Pearsons as a store clerk. 

Joyce was a congregant of the First Church of Templeton. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and was active within Narragansett Historical Society and Narragansett Dollars for Scholars. Joyce previously owned her own ceramic studio and enjoyed painting. However, her greatest joy was her family, and she cherished every moment she spent with them.

Joyce is survived by her husband of 68 years Leo P. Provencher of Templeton; two daughters, Beth Arsenault and her husband Gus of Templeton and Sarah Clavir and her husband Michael of Athol; a son, J. Allan Provencher and his wife Lisa of Templeton and a daughter-in-law Maria Provencher of Pennsylvania. Her grandchildren: Edward and Tomas Provencher, Renay, David, and Lauren Arsenault, Adam Korandanis, Jaryd Gallant, Rachael Deschenes, Rebekah Provencher, and Ian and Emma Clavir; two sisters, Judy Columbus of Leominster and Diane LeBlanc and her husband Philip of Baldwinville; a brother, Charles Pervier and his wife Mary of Maine; sister-in-laws; Janet Pervier of E.Templeton and Irene Pervier of Baldwinville, several nieces, nephews and cousins. 

She was predeceased by a son, Paul Provencher; a sister, Susan Faulkner; and two brothers, Rodney, and Jon Paul Pervier. 

There will be a private burial at the request of Joyce and her family.
