Joseph F. "Fran" Richard

Joseph F. Richard, 69, of Gardner, died peacefully on May 23, 2017 in Gardner Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, after a lengthy illness.
Born In Canaan, New Brunswick, Canada on March 6, 1948, he was the son of the late Maxime and Eleonore (Pitre) Richard.
Joseph graduated from Leominster Trade School with the Class of 1966. He was a United States Air Force Veteran and United States Army Veteran, where he served during the Vietnam Era.
Joseph was employed by the United States Postal Service as a letter carrier, where he worked for 20 years retiring in 2007.
He loved reading, 50's music and taking trips to the casino.
Joseph leaves his step-daughter Amy E. Landry of Fitchburg; sister Kathleen Burt of New York; one grandchild Aidan Whitney and his mother Alison Whitney; his former wife Denise A. Jacques of Phillipston; one aunt Doris Robichaud of Gardner; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by one step-son Jonathan M. Landry; and one sister Florence Burchstead.
Funeral services will be held Friday June 23rd, at 2:00pm at Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Rd. Winchendon, MA, 01475.
