2:00 - 2:30 pm (Eastern time)
Joseph H. Leger, 95, of Hubbardston, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Boston Medical Center in Brighton after a brief illness.
Joe was born on March 27, 1930, in Fulton, New York. Joe was a proud United States Army Korean War Veteran, serving from 1948 to 1952, and again from 1957 to 1960 with the North Carolina Army National Guard. He later worked for several years at Digital Equipment Corporation before retiring.
Joe was a man of many passions. A member of the Hubbardston Senior Center, he especially enjoyed traveling to Canada, with a fondness for New Brunswick. His love of oil painting and drawing spoke to his artistic nature, while his knack for handyman work reflected the practical skills he carried with him from his years of military service. A dedicated car enthusiast, he took joy in caring for his own vehicles. Joe was happiest outdoors, tending to his gardens and landscaping, always striving to maintain a beautiful, pristine yard.
He is survived by his son, David Leger of Hubbardston, and several cousins.
Joe was predeceased by the love of his life, Mary A. Leger, who passed away on November 8, 2025.
Graveside services for both Joseph and Mary will be held on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon, MA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, PO Box 96929, Washington, DC 20090, or online at (www.aspca.org). Please reference "In memory of Joseph H. Leger."
