Joseph A"Joe, Antoine" Barrieau

Joseph A. "Joe", "Antoine" Barrieau, 88, of Gardner, died peacefully Saturday, February 10, 2018 in UMASS Memorial Medical Center of Worcester.
Born in Acadieville, N.B. Canada on November 27, 1929, he was the son of the late Hubert and Delina (Barrieau) Barrieau.
Joseph was a siding installer employed by Francis Ouellette Construction of Hubbardston for 15 years, prior to retiring.
He was a member of Holy Spirit Church of Gardner. Joseph was also a member of the Monument L'Assomption of Rogersville, N.B. Canada.
Joseph enjoyed playing cards, bowling, watching game shows on television, and his daily walks. He was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and Boston Bruins. Joseph loved his Canadian heritage cuisine, and he was a faithful daily listener of the Canadian radio station CJSE based out of Shediac, N.B. Canada. Joseph loved his family dearly and treasured spending time with them.
He leaves his loving wife of 60 years, Florine M. (Robichaud) Barrieau of Gardner; two sons, Norman J. Barrieau of Glendale, AZ and Michael J. Barrieau and his wife Denise of Evansville, IN; five daughters, Linda M. Fair and her husband Daniel of Blue Earth, MN, Joanne M. Barrieau and her fiancé Michael Bourque of Gardner, Diane M. Wilson and her husband James of Brookline, NH, Elaine M. Dadah and her husband Russell of Orange, and Lorraine M. Nelson and her husband Kurt of Winchendon; one sister, Marguerite Vautour of Winchendon; his former daughter-in-law, Geri Barrieau; six grandchildren, Karli Barrieau, Katelin Barrieau, Julia Wilson, Levin Wilson, Casandra Nelson and Jared Nelson; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Joseph was predeceased by four brothers, Adolph, Basile, Alyre and Francois Barrieau; and by one sister, Virginia Richard.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, February 15th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 2:00 p.m. in Holy Spirit Church, 50 Lovewell Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner at a later date.
Calling hours will be held Thursday, February 15th from 11:30 am. to 1:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
