Joan B"Joni" Hines

Joan B. "Joni" (Petitti) Hines, 79, of Bedford, NH, formerly of Gardner, died peacefully Saturday, December 3, 2016 in Bedford Hills Nursing Home of Bedford, NH following an illness.
Born in Gardner on November 24, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Joseph G. and Viola L. (DesBois) Petitti.
She attended Gardner High School and graduated from Wachusett Regional High School of Holden with the class of 1956.
Joan was employed for 22 years as a Computer Operator for South West Research Institute of San Antonio, Texas, retiring in 2000. She was previously employed by the American Youth Association on Chicksands Air Force Base in England, serving as Director of Youth Activities.
Joan was a member of Annunciation Parish/Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner.
She was a dedicated 'Military Wife' for several years, traveling the world and living in various countries, though she never lost her love of New England. She loved dogs and for many years she and her two Labs, Nellie and Cocoa were members of The Delta Society of San Antonio, TX, a non-profit organization whose mission is to bring people and animals together for healing. Joan treasured spending time with her family.
Joan was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Warner M. Hines, who died January 7, 2013.
She leaves one son, Craig S. Hines and his wife Lynn of Greenville, NH; one daughter, Laura M. Hines and her partner Jana McMillan of Mont Vernon, NH; one brother-in-law, Henry Robichaud of Baldwinville; two grandchildren, Frazier and Faith Hines; three nieces, Julie Dembek, Debby Dembek and Penny Benavidez; four nephews, Gary Dembek, Roger Robichaud, Gerald Robichaud and Barry Peterson. Joan was predeceased by two sisters, Marceline Dembek and Marion Robichaud.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, December 16th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner, with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Annunciation Parish/Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner.
Calling hours will be held Friday, December 16th from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Greater Nashua, 24 Ferry Road, Nashua, NH 03064.
