Janet M. (Strom) (Bilodeau) Lajoie, 74, of Gardner, died peacefully, Wednesday, May 27, 2020, in her residence.
Born in Gardner on July 21, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Bruno and Aldea (Brassard) Strom. Janet attended Holy Rosary School through the eighth grade, and in 1977, she received her GED. She was a telephone operator employed by Verizon for 20-years until her retirement in 2005. Janet, along with her husband Richard, owned and operated Pine View Restaurant.
Janet was a parishioner of Annunciation Parish and the former Sacred Heart of Jesus Church of Gardner. She was a member of the West End Beagle Club of Gardner, the Gardner Chapter of AARP and a member of the Pioneers of America. Janet enjoyed knitting, crocheting, doing crafts, watching television, and playing computer games. She loved to be outside, working in her garden. Janet loved to take trips to Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods. But the time she loved and cherished the most was time spent with her family.
Janet is survived by her husband of 41-years, Richard D. Lajoie of Gardner; two daughters, Doreen Lashua of Gardner, and Susan Bilodeau of Gardner; a son, William Bilodeau of Gardner, a brother Leo Strom of Gardner; three grandchildren, Shane Donaldson, Brieanna Hanks, and Brittany Paglia; seven great-grandchildren; an aunt, Millie Ketola of Gardner, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Leo E. Bilodeau Jr., who died in 1974; and her sister, Lorraine Gauvin.
