Janet M. Chaves

Janet “Jan” M. (Dufault) Chaves, 65, of Templeton, died peacefully Saturday, May 15, 2021, in her residence surrounded by her family after an illness.

Born in Marlborough on October 18, 1955, she was the daughter of Sr. Mary Francis (Siniawski) Dufault and the late Richard Dufault. Jan was a graduate of Marlborough High School with the Class of 1974.

Jan was a parishioner of Annunciation Parish/ Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner. She loved the ocean and enjoyed spending time on the beach. She also greatly cherished time spent at her Fitzwilliam Camp, painting and cooking. Jan loved animals, especially her dogs, Sam and Penny. She was a homemaker who loved and cherished taking care of her family.

Besides her mother, Sr. Mary Francis (Siniawski)Dufault, Jan is survived by her husband of 45-years, Emanuel J. Chaves of Templeton; two daughters, Mary E Gianini and her husband Kevin of Chester, VT, and Heather M. Campobasso and her husband Stephen of Athol; three sons, Christopher E. Chaves of Templeton, Adam E. Chaves and his wife Emily of Hubbardston, and Timothy E. Chaves and his wife Amber of Templeton; a sister, Amy Chekmakis and her husband Andrew of Massachusetts, sixteen grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, May 20, 2021, from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA, with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Annunciation Parish at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, Patriots Road, Templeton, MA.

Calling Hours will be held Wednesday, May 19, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
