James P"Jimmy" Doherty

James P. "Jimmy" Doherty, 59, of Haverhill, formerly of Newburyport, died Wednesday, April 19, 2017 in St. Elizabeth's Medical Center of Brighton, following a brief illness.
Born in Medford on June 16, 1958, he was the son of the late William F. and Catherine (Wright) Doherty.
He was a construction worker for many years employed by various construction firms.
James enjoyed boating, fishing and woodworking. He loved music, and he treasured spending time with his family.
James leaves two brothers, William J. Doherty and his wife Betty of Amesbury and Daniel J. Doherty and his wife Sara of Atlanta, GA; two sisters, Kathleen Mitchell and her husband Delmer of Katy, TX and Patricia McCreedy and her husband Thomas of Templeton; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother, David Doherty; and his sister, Mary Doherty.
Graveside Services will be held Saturday, April 29th at 1:30 p.m. in Pine Grove Cemetery, Templeton.
There are no calling hours.
