Ivar Jarvenpaa

Ivar Jarvenpaa, 60, of Gardner, died unexpectedly Wednesday, August 24, 2022, in his residence.

Born in Gardner on September 23, 1961, he was the son of the late Veikko and Sanni (Salminen) Jarvenpaa and attended Athol High School. Ivar was a Chair Maker employed by Nichols & Stone of Gardner for several years prior to his retirement.

Ivar enjoyed being outdoors fishing and metal detecting. His greatest joy in life was his family, especially his grandchildren, treasuring every special moment together.

Ivar is survived by a son, Erick Jarvenpaa of Gardner; two daughters, Jillian Morin and her husband Izik of Gardner and Emily Jablonka of Winchendon; four grandchildren, Aliviah, Ariella, and Amelia Morin, and Veikko Jarvenpaa; a brother, Wayne Jarvenpaa and his wife Pam of Royalston; a sister, Mailis Ahoranta and her husband Jari of Barre; his former wife, Rae-Ann Labonte of Gardner; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, September 6, 2022, at 6:00 p.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA.

A Calling Hour will be held Tuesday, September 6, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
