Helene J. (Doiron) Thibodeau, 97, of Gardner, died peacefully, Tuesday, May 26, 2020, in her daughter’s residence, surrounded by her family after a short illness.

Born in Rogersville, New Brunswick, Canada, on December 9, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Marguerite (Robichaud) Doiron. On September 9, 1947, she married Edmond F. Thibodeau and together they immigrated to the United States in 1964. She was employed by Dosan Sportswear as a stitcher for 16-years until her retirement in 1986. She previously was employed by Tootsie Doll Clothes of Leominster and the Gardner News.

Helene was a parishioner of Annunciation Parish/ Our Lady of the Holy Rosary and was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Marie Oratory at Holy Rosary Church. She was a former member of the Gardner Golden Agers and was a member of the Assumption Monument Association in Rogersville, NB, Canada. Helene loved to knit, play cards, work on puzzles. She loved to travel— especially to Canada and Maine. But the time that she truly treasured and loved the most was time spent with her family.

Helene is survived by her four daughters, Phyllis Richard and her husband Omer of Gardner, Doris Caouette and her husband Cleo of Gardner, Charline Daigle and her husband Charlie of Gardner and Jocelyne Levasseur and her husband Yves of Gardner; a daughter-in-law, Sandi Thibodeau of Westminster; thirteen grandchildren, Kristin Richard, Danielle Mulloy and her husband Alex, Justin Richard, Amanda Richard, Monique LeBlanc and her husband Matthew, Justen Levasseur and his wife Tricia, Michele Goderre and her husband Dan, Jill Thibodeau and her fiancé Corey Dion, Megan Thibodeau; Wesley Caouette and his wife Lauren, Ashley Chicoine and her husband Jason, Kalyn Dudley and her husband Rick, and Kasandra Erdmann and her husband Bobby; twenty-two great-grandchildren Keyshawn and Jaylen Kirkland, Colton, Axel and Bode Levasseur, Cameron and Lydon Caouette, Graham and Leo Dudley, Cahill and Ellery Erdmann, Amaiya, Jada, and Reese LeBlanc, Millie and Marlee Goderre, Analisa, Preston and Lyla Richard, Beau Chicoine (arriving shortly), Lydia Dupres, and Elian Ramirez; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides her husband, of 38-years, Edmond F. Thibodeau, she was predeceased by a son, Roger Joseph Thibodeau, a sister, Florence Maillet; four brothers Amable, Emile, Raymond and Ernest Doiron.

Funeral Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
