George E. Pelletier

George E. Pelletier, of Gardner, died peacefully on his 71st birthday on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, in Wachusett Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Gardner, after a long courageous battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.

Born in Fort Devens on January 19, 1951, he was the son of the late Edmond Pelletier and Bertha (Saulnier) (Pelletier) Hietala. He attended Gardner High School and later received his GED. He received an Associates Degree in Quality Control from New Hampshire Vocational Technical School in 1992. George was a Senior Quality Engineer employed by Quantum Co. in Shrewsbury for several years traveling extensively all over the world. He most recently was employed by Lowes as a Store Clerk.

George was a parishioner of Annunciation Parish/ Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner. He was a member and former Board of Director of the Acadien Social Club of Gardner, member of the Otter River Sportsman’s Club of Templeton and a past member of the Deep-Sea Club of Gardner. George enjoyed being outdoors, where he loved to golf, fish, and hunt. He also enjoyed playing games of pool especially at the Gardner Senior Center. His greatest joy came when he was with his family, always treasuring the special moments.

George is survived by his wife of 38-years, Constance "Connie" I. (Leger) Pelletier of Gardner; one son, John Sund and his significant other Mary of Braintree; two stepsons, Matthew Neely of Templeton, and Michael Neely and his significant other Carrie Herschel of Orange; a granddaughter Amanda Godden (Peter) in Virginia; grandson James Sund; great grandson Presley Godden and step-grandson, Lincoln Neely; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Edgar Pelletier and James Saulnier.

George loved meeting new people and immediately made everyone feel comfortably. He was a great hugger and loved engaging in conversation. He would always make himself available if someone needed help. He will be missed by all who knew him.

A huge heart felt thank you to the staff on Unit 3 at Wachusett Manor for their excellent care for the past two years, often going above and beyond their duties.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, February 5, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA. Burial at Notre Dame Cemetery, West Street, Gardner, MA, will be held at a later date.

A Calling Hour will be held Saturday, February 5, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home
